In 1861, our founder, Count Haraszthy, journeyed to Europe to procure the finest grapevines. While in Bordeaux, he declared "Cabernet Sauvignon is its unsurpassed frappe; the wine made of it processes splendid color and an exquisite bouquet." Bringing choice cuttings back to California, he propagated them at Buena Vista, and sold thousands to those that founded the Napa Valley wine world.

Tasting Notes

The 2022 Buena Vista Winery Chateau Buena Vista Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich and smooth Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon crafted from select vineyards spanning from Yountville to St. Helena. Aged in French oak barrels, this full-bodied red wine presents a lavish bouquet of chocolate plum, blackcurrant, and ripe cherries, accented by creamy vanilla and sweet oak spices. On the palate, it delivers a generous, complex profile of blackberry, strawberry, and dark cherry, supported by velvety, smooth tannins and a plush mouthfeel. The wine concludes with a rich, dense, and lingering finish.
