From The Winemaker

The legend of Ferrari began with a man, Giulio Ferrari, and his dream of creating a wine in Trentino capable of competing with the best French Champagnes. He was a pioneer; it was he who was the first to realize the extraordinary vocation of his area, and it was he who first made substantial plantings of Chardonnay in Italy. He started to produce a few highly select bottles, with an obsessive attention to quality. As he had no children, Giulio Ferrari began looking for a successor to whom he could entrust his dream.Among many candidates he chose Bruno Lunelli, owner of a wine shop in Trento. Thanks to his passion and entrepreneurial talent, Bruno Lunelli succeeded in increasing production without ever compromising on quality.

Visual: The wine presents a deep, intense straw-yellow color with shimmering golden highlights. The perlage is a defining feature, with an extremely fine and persistent stream of bubbles that gracefully ascend the glass.

Aromatics (Nose): The bouquet is complex and highly expressive. It opens with vibrant notes of fresh orchard fruits, particularly crisp Reinette apples and ripe yellow-fleshed fruits like peaches and pineapple. As it evolves, a delicate, almost floral scent of almond blossom emerges, mingling with hints of white flowers. The long aging on the lees provides a savory, toasted quality, with nuances of bread crust, brioche, and sweet almonds. A subtle spiciness and a delicate honeyed undertone add further layers of intrigue.

Palate: On the palate, the wine is elegant, fresh, and harmonious. It strikes a beautiful balance between a creamy, velvety texture and a vibrant, well-integrated acidity that provides a sense of tension and richness. The fruity notes from the nose are echoed here, with flavors of ripe apples and citrus zest (grapefruit and lemon) taking center stage. Hints of yeast and a subtle minerality contribute to its complexity. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a lingering, slightly nutty and aromatic quality that is a hallmark of high-quality Chardonnay.
