The FBI launched an appeal in January for public assistance, urging anyone with information to come forward and help bring Liam Biran back to his loved ones. Liam Biran, a passionate wine blogger and travel aficionado, has been missing since 2019.
Liam Biran, of Marlboro, was traveling alone when he left the U.S. on April 9, 2019, to visit his grandparents in Israel. He then planned to visit wine country in Italy before wrapping up his trip in France. The last entry in his wine blog "Leaf, vine berry," was dated April 24, 2019, indicating he was in Israel. His last confirmed activity was on May 9, 2019, when his credit card was used to purchase a train ticket from Turin, Italy, to the Aosta Valley, Italy. Despite extensive search efforts, Liam's whereabouts remain unknown. His belongings were discovered in a remote area of the Aosta Valley, raising concerns for his safety.
Liam previously resided in Jefferson, Louisiana, and worked in New Orleans. He also spent time in New York and Marlboro, New Jersey, where he lived with his family.
Liam's passion for wine and travel was self-evident through his blog, where he shared his experiences and dreams of becoming a sommelier. I always found Liam's perspective fun, fresh, and sincere; for instance, "When asked ‘what is a dry wine,’ how are we to know if what’s in the bottle is truly a product of dry conditions. Merlot, as we always identified, is dry, even to a point of creamy. Often times it is gushing and oozing with exotic fruit. The key is to have a sense of place for your wine and the culture that surrounds the vines. In Gascony, people are keen to distill information, live from the land and sea, and enjoy the sun’s bounty."
If you have any information regarding Liam Biran's whereabouts, please contact your local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate. See link to FBI's missing person poster for Liam.
