From The Winemaker

Thirty majestic acres in the heart of Napa Valley - once a welcoming landmark for the Pony Express- is now home to Sinegal Estate Winery. Proprietor, David Sinegal, and Winemaker, Nick Moraida, are both steadfast in producing wines approachable in their youth (yet fit to age) that capture the true spirit of our estate and the AVA’s in which we farm. The philosophy of our founders, Jim & David Sinegal, is to honor both tradition and innovation. They have fully restored the 1881 Victorian home on the estate and are taking meticulous care farming the thirty-plus year-old vines they inherited when they purchased the historic property in 2013. Using state-of-the-art equipment to test and analyze grape quality, we take a science-forward approach to ensure that only the finest fruit makes it into our barrels. Farming organically and responsibility, we are rewarded with fruit that achieves perfect ripeness and a complex, balanced, and singular site expression. Our winery operations are now 100% “off the grid”. We take all available precautions to ensure we are treading as lightly as possible when farming, crafting, and producing our wines.

Score

"Moving to Napa, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot, 4% Malbec, and the rest Merlot and Cabernet Franc, all of which spent 20 months in 80% new French. Currants, smoked herbs, graphite, chocolaty oak, and some spring flower notes all give way to a rich, full-bodied, plush, layered wine that has terrific underlying structure. It's a gorgeous base cuvee that has so much to love."
