Origin

Based in Rutherford, in the heart of Napa Valley, Quilt is a winery founded by winemaker Joseph Wagner that focuses on the production of wines based on Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Cab Sav's grapes come from a series of premium Napa Valley vineyards, located predominantly on the valley floor with additions of grapes from the area's higher elevations. The finished product is a seamless blend of cassis, hazelnut, cocoa, blackberry preserves and charred meat with complex notes of dark licorice, stewed rhubarb, strawberry, spice and vanilla. Rich and satisfying on the palate with decadent chocolate brownie, yogurt and molasses flavors in perfect balance with higher-toned fruit emphasis. This has been our best selling California cabernet sauvignon since we opened up shop.

Winemaking Process

Quilt Cabernet Sauvignon is a testament to the art of blending and the appreciation of Napa Valley's diverse terroir. The grapes are sourced from select vineyards across the Napa Valley region, each parcel contributing its unique character to the final blend. This meticulous selection process ensures that only the finest fruit is chosen to create this exceptional wine.

The wine undergoes aging in a combination of French and American oak barrels, carefully calibrated to enhance the wine's structure and complexity. The result is a wine that beautifully marries the richness of the fruit with the elegance of oak aging, achieving a balance that is both bold and refined.

Perfect Pairings

This Cabernet Sauvignon is a versatile partner for a range of culinary experiences. It is an excellent complement to grilled ribeye steaks, roasted lamb, or hearty pasta dishes. For cheese enthusiasts, it pairs wonderfully with aged cheddar or gouda, accentuating the wine's depth and character.  Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour.
