From the Winemaker
The 2019 Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon benefited from an exceptional growing season beginning with generous winter rains that enhanced soil mineralization. This was followed by the latest bud break and bloom since 2012 due to cool February temperatures, ensuring a slow and deliberate plant development. Spring’s cool, rainy weather allowed vineyard managers to maintain impeccably healthy canopies, setting the stage for an optimal growing cycle. As the season advanced, mild climatic stress encouraged robust polyphenol accumulation, while a warm, dry summer promoted a swift veraison and uniform ripening of the grape clusters. These ideal conditions culminated in a historic vintage, with harvest starting on September 23rd in the alluvial fan, and hillside fruit arriving last on October 3rd, reflecting a careful selection of prime vineyard parcels. This Cabernet Sauvignon showcases a remarkable balance of concentration, complexity, and finesse, emblematic of the vintage's extraordinary terroir and climate.
100 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"Deep purple-black in color, the nose of the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon slowly unfurls to reveal a gorgeous perfume of violets and roses over a core of kirsch, boysenberries and cassis, plus hints of redcurrant jelly and menthol, emerging into wafts of pencil lead and truffles. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is built like a brick house, featuring very firm, wonderfully ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness to support the vivacious, tightly wound black and red fruit layers, finishing long and mineral laced. It's a stunning, evocative, singular wine that so beautifully captures the long, slow-maturing grace of the 2019 vintage."

"This is sophisticated and intellectual, with an incredible wall of fine tannins that take you deep down into the soul of the wine. Full-to medium-bodied, tight and soulful. Tar, ash and volcanic-soil flavors. White pepper, too. Great length. Shows the first-growth quality of the vineyards, harking back to the wines of the mid-1970s. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. This needs at least six to seven years of bottle age. Best after 2028."

"I was also able to taste the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is an utterly classic Napa Cabernet with its layered, expansive mouthfeel and majestic style. Red and black currants, savory herbs, tobacco, new leather, and pressed roses all define the aromatics, and it's full-bodied, with a deep, layered mouthfeel, an incredible salinity and minerality, and a gorgeous finish. It's pure class and elegance married with incredible Napa fruit. As with many 2019s, it already offers pleasure yet this should benefit from 3-5 years of bottle age and I wouldn t be surprised to see it evolve for 30+ years."
