Hailing from California’s Santa Maria Valley, the Clark & Telephone Vineyard—established in 1972 with “own root” Martini clone vines—benefits from its west-facing slope just 13 miles from the ocean. This location draws cool fog and coastal breezes inland until the arrival of Santa Ana winds in August. The wine displays a deep scarlet-red hue and offers complex aromas of blackberry, black cherry, cinnamon, nutmeg, and subtle caramel. On the palate, it reveals vibrant notes of ripe raspberries, strawberry jam, dense blackberry, warm gingerbread, and a touch of toffee, balanced by lively acidity, a plush mid-palate, and a silky texture. The rich fruit profile extends into a long, pure, and enduring finish.
