Sourced from Montelena’s prized Calistoga vineyards, the wine is built on 94% Cabernet Sauvignon with small additions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, aged roughly 22 months in French oak, giving the wine both depth and polish.
The aromatics are immediately compelling: blackberry, cranberry, and cassis rise from the glass alongside notes of cedar, black pepper, mint, and potpourri, with subtle hints of barrel toast and graphite adding complexity.
