The foundation of the 2017 Reserve is a meticulous selection of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, 8% Malbec, 4% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot. Grown on the limestone-rich slopes of the adelaida district, the fruit experienced a warm, texturally brilliant growing season that yielded immense concentration. To handle this dense raw material, the wine underwent 24 months of extensive maturation in 100% new French oak barrels. This long sleep perfectly resolved the bold mountain tannins while imbuing the liquid with a majestic framing of exotic wood and sweet baking spices.
