Angelina's Pool Rage: Brad Pitt Drops $1 Million On Miraval Oasis

2024 年 Aug 15 日Michael Bozzelli
The saga between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is starting to feel like a real-life version of "Coronation Street," the UK’s longest-running soap opera. Just when you think it can’t get more dramatic, another twist comes along. This time, the spotlight is on Château Miraval, the stunning French estate and winery the couple bought together in 2008 and tied the knot in 2013.

In the latest legal filings, Jolie’s team has accused Pitt of turning Miraval into his own 'personal piggy bank.' According to Jolie, Pitt has been using the winery's funds to bankroll his own projects, including spending over $1 million to renovate a swimming pool that, apparently, only he uses. There’s also talk of Pitt pouring money into revamping a recording studio on the property—a studio that hosted the likes of Pink Floyd and Sting long before the Jolie-Pitts took over. Maybe Pitt is working with Sting on a theme song for the brand: 'Every sip of Rosé you take.'

To top it off and as we brought to your attention in an earlier post, Jolie claims that Pitt is trying to strip the winery of its assets, making it harder for her to sell her share. Back in 2021, Jolie sold her 50% stake in Miraval to Uri Shefler’s company, Stoli. But, according to Jolie, Pitt has been freezing Stoli out by refusing to appoint neutral directors to the board that oversees the vineyard’s operations.

Pitt’s side, however, says these accusations are “absurd.” They argue that Pitt’s been dedicated to turning Château Miraval into a world-class rosé producer with a killer pool and sound studio, not looting it for his own benefit. The winery has done pretty well for itself, too, bringing in over €15 million in profits just last year.

Beyond wine, Pitt has also been busy launching other ventures from Miraval, like his skincare brand, Beau Domaine. He’s been working with experts to figure out which of the grapes grown on the estate are best for anti-aging products. And it looks like the Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre varieties are the winners, making their way into Beau Domaine’s serums and creams.

As for the divorce? It’s still dragging on, now entering its eighth year without a resolution in sight. Just like in "Coronation Street," it seems like there’s always more drama waiting around the corner. Whether it’s about who gets what or how the winery’s being run, it doesn’t look like this story is ending anytime soon. So, grab some popcorn (or maybe a glass of rosé) because this saga is far from over.
