When it comes to German wine, the name Prüm on the bottle has been an indicator of quality and precision for generations, as the family has been cultivating vines in the Mosel Valley since the 12th century. The S.A. Prüm estate is named for Sebastien Alois Prüm, whose son Mathias built it into 19th century Mosel's largest. Mathias's son Sebastien established the winery in 1911. Today the property is owned and run by Raimund "the red" Prüm, who inherited the vineyards and winery in 1971.
