The 2021 Clos Apalta from Lapostolle is a luxurious, Bordeaux-inspired blend from the steep, amphitheater-shaped slopes of the Apalta Valley in Colchagua. Dominated by Carménère with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in support, it delivers a deep, dark profile of blackberry, plum, sweet spice, and sandalwood, lifted by hints of lavender and fresh herbs. The palate is plush and concentrated yet notably elegant in this vintage, showing polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, harmonious finish shaped by 24 months in mostly new French oak. It’s a modern Chilean icon—bold, refined, and built for both early pleasure and long-term cellaring.
