Vèritè 2019 La Joie Red

Vérité's La Joie represents a masterful interpretation of Pauillac-style Bordeaux, crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon vines cultivated across the volcanic terrain of the Mayacamas Mountains in California's North Coast. Winemaker Pierre Seillan orchestrates over fifty distinct micro-vineyard parcels to achieve La Joie's distinctive complexity. The wine presents a striking violet-hued core rimmed in ruby, with an aromatic profile that balances ripe dark fruit—black currant and cherry—against an intriguing mineral backdrop of conifer, mushroom, olive, clay, anise, and clove. On the palate, refined tannins and bright acidity provide structure to the wine's opulent fruit character, culminating in a graceful, lingering finish.

The 2019 La Joie is an elegant expression that offers power, freshness and expressive, floral character. A blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, it has a deep ruby color and opens slowly from black cherries and blueberries to accents of violets, ground coffee and licorice. The full-bodied palate has generous, grainy tannins, detailed, perfumed flavors and bright acidity, finishing with an alluring iron character. 2,500 cases were made.
