Pol Roger Brut Reserve 750 ml
About This Wine
Founded in 1849, Champagne Pol Roger stands as one of the few remaining independent, 100% family-owned Grandes Marques in Champagne, managed today by direct fifth- and sixth-generation descendants. Highly revered for its artisanal heritage, the house maintains a rigorous commitment to quality—utilizing traditional hand-riddling for every bottle and aging its cuvées in deep, cool chalk cellars lying 33 meters underground to ensure a fine, creamy mousse and exquisite finesse.
This focus on prestige and long-term vision over high-volume production has earned Pol Roger an esteemed position on the world stage. It is an active member of Primum Familiae Vini—an elite association restricted to twelve of the world's most distinguished family-owned wineries—and famously enjoyed a historic association with Sir Winston Churchill, who called its cellars "the world's most drinkable address." Consistently ranked among the world's most admired Champagne houses by international trade surveys, Pol Roger remains a benchmark of elegance, balance, and cellaring power.
Tasting Notes
The flagship Pol Roger Réserve Brut, often known as "White Foil," is crafted from equal parts Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay sourced from 30 distinct crus. Aged for four years in deep, cool chalk cellars, the wine opens with an alluring bouquet of fresh Amalfi lemon, crisp green apple, and white peach. As it breathes, warm, comforting layers of fresh brioche, floral jasmine, beeswax, and delicate baking spices begin to unfold. On the palate, the mousse is remarkably fine, delicate, and persistent. An initial wave of stone fruit, candied citrus peel, and white cherry gives way to bright, saline acidity and a laser-focused chalky mineral drive. The finish is long, dry, and exceptionally refined, leaving lasting impressions of toasted brioche, lemon curd, and a mouthwatering savory note.
A 5.99 signature verification fee is required for all wine shipments. This ensures delivery to an individual of legal drinking age.
