The 2022 vintage of Continuum marks a monumental milestone for the Mondavi legacy—the family's 100th consecutive harvest in Napa Valley. Crafted by Tim Mondavi at his spectacular, estate-grown Sage Mountain Vineyard high on Pritchard Hill, this flagship Bordeaux blend represents a pinnacle of hillside viticulture. Cultivated at elevations up to 1,600 feet in iron-rich, volcanic soils, this 100% estate-grown, produced, and bottled red wine balances untamed mountain intensity with striking structural elegance.

Tasting Notes

The 2022 release features the highest percentage of Cabernet Franc in the estate's history, resulting in a remarkably fragrant and seductive profile. On the nose, a lively and expressive bouquet leads with attention-grabbing black cherry, wild mulberry, and lifted hibiscus florals, anchored by savory undertones of tobacco leaf, dried sage brush, and dark cacao. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied and incredibly concentrated, yet it maintains a paradoxical weightlessness. Exuberant layers of black plum, espresso, and clove dance over a definitive core of volcanic minerality. The finish is seamless and regal, wrapped in a plush, velvet robe of fine cocoa-powder tannins that provide incredible depth and a solid, lingering energy.
