About This Wine
Located in Coombsville, just east of Napa City, the sprawling 20-acre vineyards of Dolce are nestled at the base of the Vaca Mountains, forming the valley's eastern border. The well-drained, volcanic soil and ideal positioning protect the west-facing vines from winds, allowing the morning fog of autumn to linger until midday. This is a crucial factor in the production of Botrytis cinerea, a type of mold that develops on the grapes under specific conditions of high humidity and subsequent drying. The resulting flavors of the 2017 Dolce wine are a delicious combination of apricot and orange marmalade, with delicate hints of butterscotch and baking spices. These vibrant flavors are perfectly complemented by the trademark full-bodied and velvety texture of Dolce, leaving a satisfying finish on the palate.
