Tommasi has proudly presided over Italy’s Veneto region for over 120 years, with wines that are both renowned for their superior quality and consistently regarded as reference points for their respective appellations. Established in 1902 by Giacomo Battista Tommasi, the winery grew from a humble 12 acre family estate to a driving force behind the development of the wine industry in the Veneto and continues to work tirelessly to promote the unique characteristics of the region’s grape varieties. Giancarlo Tommasi is the principal winemaker, and studied winemaking at the University of Udine in Friuli. Strict in his philosophy to respect the integrity of the terroir and the traditional ways of winemaking in the Veneto, he upholds a classic approach to all wines, favoring elegance and balance while paying homage to the winemaking traditions of his ancestors. Custodians of the Valpolicella, the Tommasi family vigorously pursues sustainable practices that can only be achieved because their wines are all estate produced. The close monitoring of all their vineyards allows them to customize and limit interventions in the vineyards.
