First created in 1998, it draws its name from a native plant abundant in the surrounding estate, the Cornelian cherry or cornus mas. This wine is a true reflection of the winemaker's vision, focused on showcasing the unique territory and continuously evolving traditions. The foundation of this wine is Sangiovese, sourced from the oldest vineyard on the estate, Vigna dell'Impero, originally planted in 1935 by Amedeo, Duke of Savoy-Aosta. This historic grape variety is grown in rocky, marl-rich soils, and only the finest grapes are hand-selected for the majority composition of the wine. A small addition of Merlot adds a touch of smoothness, immediate enjoyment, and vibrant color to the final blend.
