About This Wine

The overwhelming success of Sassicaia traces back to the ambition of Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta to plant Bordeaux varieties in Tuscany in the 1940s. Tenuta San Guido is hailed as the standard-bearer of Italian enology for being the first-ever Super Tuscan introduced to the market in 1968. 

It is a stunning and highly refined Super Tuscan that emphasizes elegance, aromatic complexity, and precision. This vintage opens with layered notes of blackcurrant, wild herbs, lavender, and violet, complemented by hints of citrus zest, spice, and crushed stone minerality. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied with polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and remarkable balance, offering a more lifted, floral, and nuanced style compared to richer vintages. The finish is long, fresh, and mineral-driven, with outstanding aging potential and finesse.
