From The Winemaker

From the heart of St. Helena, Sinegal Estate beautifully marries micro-farming precision with luxury winemaking to deliver an absolute crowd-pleaser of a vintage. The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold, sumptuous expression of a warm, dry Napa Valley growing season, offering immediate gratification for those who love a plump, velvety, front-end-loaded red while possessing the balance and structure to age beautifully for over a decade. Composed of a meticulously crafted Bordeaux-style blend that is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with accents of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec, the wine spends 20 months in 80% new French oak barrels to achieve a seamless, polished texture that completely envelops the palate.

On the nose, it opens with a compelling, layered bouquet of baked blueberry crumble, ripe blackberries, and dark cherry, elegantly accented by notes of sweet tobacco, warm cocoa, mocha, and fresh leather. The palate delivers a concentrated, juicy, and fruit-forward entry packed with black cherry and dark chocolate richness, supported by firm, fine-grained tannins and a savory mid-palate of dried thyme, graphite, and subtle licorice. The experience concludes with a lengthy, well-integrated, and poised finish, leaving a lasting impression of lingering currant, chocolaty oak, and a lifted touch of spring florals.

This robust Cabernet Sauvignon is built for rich, savory dishes, making it an exceptional pairing alongside grilled ribeye steak, a marbled T-bone, slow-braised short ribs, or herb-crusted rack of lamb. For a simpler pairing, it stands up beautifully to aged Gruyère or sharp cheddar cheese. This vintage features an impressive blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot, and 3% Malbec, and it has already garnered high critical acclaim with 92 points from Jeb Dunnuck.
