Beaulieu Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 750 ml
From The Winemaker
BV Vineyards was founded in 1900 by Georges de Latour, who bought a small Napa Valley ranch and named it Beaulieu after his wife Fernande exclaimed, "What a beautiful place!". De Latour imported phylloxera-resistant vines and established the first large-scale Napa nursery, helping to revive the region's wine industry.
Tasting Notes
The 2023 Beaulieu Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautifully nuanced, energetic expression of a remarkably cool, extended Napa growing season. Striking a sophisticated balance between classic valley richness and old-school structural restraint, this vintage leans into freshness rather than heavy over-extraction. The bouquet opens with vibrant aromas of red currant, wild blueberry, and fresh cassis, underscored by complex hints of cedar, sage brush, and dark cocoa. On the palate, a lithe core of Bing cherry and black raspberry gains depth from an intelligent blend of Malbec, Petite Sirah, and Merlot, which introduces savory layers of baking spice and mocha. Finely sculpted by 18 months in French oak, the wine features integrated, felt-like tannins and a crisp, persistent finish. This approachably plush yet tightly wound Cabernet is equally suited for current table enjoyment or graceful cellaring over the next decade.
