About This Wine
The Melbury name is a tribute to a historic London neighborhood where the estate owners reside for most of the year. Since its initial release with the 1999 vintage, Melbury has consistently featured luscious red fruits (currants, bing cherries) infused with spice and the aroma of violets. This wine is defined by its grace and smooth texture, thanks to the unique location of its rocky 7-acre vineyard on a hillside facing south towards Lake Hennessey. This position allows the vines to bask in the morning sun while also tempering the heat in the afternoons.

"So perfumed with red roses and forest floor, plums and bark. Complex. Full- to medium-bodied with very fine tannins and a tangerine, orange zest and berry finish. Raspberries, too. Tangy and extremely long. Attractive now but will age beautifully." --JS
