For 24 generations, the Mazzei family has crafted wine at Castello di Fonterutoli, the soul of their ancient Tuscan legacy. Their story begins in the 11th century, marked by a historic milestone in 1398 when their ancestor, Ser Lapo Mazzei, penned the very first document ever to mention the name "Chianti." Just a few decades later, in 1435, the stunning Castello di Fonterutoli became the family's estate. Today, this castle remains the cherished center of their winemaking, a testament to an unbroken family passion.

Deep, dark purple in colour. Black cherry, balsamic herbs, coffee and lightly toasted oak. Flavors of dark fruit, dried flowers, chocolate and vanilla. Exotic, complex character, full bodied with polished, velvety tannins, and a long, smooth finish.
