About This Wine
From two tiny parcels in Saint-Joseph, this is a slightly fresher, more early-drinking wine than the remarkable Crozes-Hermitage that constitutes the majority of Alain's production.
Alain Graillot Saint-Joseph 2021 is a standout red from the Rhône Valley, crafted with Syrah grapes. This vintage typically features ripe blackberry and plum flavors, complemented by notes of black pepper, olive, and subtle smokiness. With a balanced structure of acidity and tannins, it’s both ready to enjoy now and capable of aging gracefully.

"Dark violet color. Assertive, mineral- and spice-accented blackberry, bacon, olive and woodsmoke aromas pick up a floral quality with aeration. Sappy and broad on the palate, offering pliant dark berry, spice cake, black pepper and floral pastille flavors and a hint of botanical herbs. Closes with repeating smoke and olive notes, even tannins and strong tenacity."
