Meghan Markle’s New Ventures: From Wine to Wellness

Jun 26、2024Michael Bozzelli
South Park's episode that parodies the Duke and Duchess of Sussex leaves viewers with the impression that the royal couple are terrible at not being celebrities. Their every move is so ironically attention-seeking that they even made a documentary about not wanting attention. Recently, in another effort to live a normal life away from the paparazzi, the Duchess has chosen wine as the first product to promote under her new brand. It’s a choice that makes “infinite commercial sense,” according to the Daily Mail.

Why wine, you ask? Well, it’s no secret that rosé is one of Meghan’s favorite drinks along with an Italian red blend with a $199 price tag. She even enjoyed a glass of rosè during her first date with Prince Harry at Soho House in London back in 2016. She’s also a fan of ‘frosé,’ an interesting concoction where rosé is frozen and blended with strawberries and icing sugar.

Expanding the Brand

This wine launch is just the beginning. Meghan has bigger plans for her California-based brand, which she officially introduced in March by creating an Instagram account. The trademarks for the brand cover a broad range of lifestyle products. We’re talking about knives, tableware, jams, and even cookbooks. Yes, cookbooks!  Fish and chips, anyone?  Or, Yorkshire pudding?

But it doesn’t stop at food and kitchen items. The brand will also offer cosmetic products, fragrances, stationery, wallpaper, homeware products, yoga, and gardening equipment.  W̵e̵ ̵r̵e̵a̵l̵l̵y̵ ̵w̵a̵n̵t̵ ̵t̵o̵ ̵s̵e̵e̵ ̵H̵a̵r̵r̵y̵ ̵i̵n̵ ̵y̵o̵g̵a̵ ̵p̵a̵n̵t̵s̵.̵ The list includes non-medicated skincare preparations, bath and shower gels, salts, non-medicated hair preparations, bath soaps, body lotions, cosmetics, body oils, and scented oils. Basically, a one-stop shop for conspicuous consumption.  Don't forget to watch that South Park episode and let's not forget to delve into Meghan's affinity for a famous Italian red blend.

A Nod to Her Past with The Tig

This new venture is a natural extension of Meghan’s earlier project, The Tig blog, named after Tignanello, a renowned Italian wine. Tignanello, a well-regarded Super Tuscan by Antinori, is known for its innovative blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Meghan shut down The Tig when she became engaged to Prince Harry and joined the Royal Family, but her passion for fine wines and luxurious living apparently endures with her rosè launch.
