Winemakers description: Purgatori is a material witness of the passage of the Benedictine order through a land that was penance and discovery: an extreme climate and a special terroir for a superior wine.
In 1770, the abbey of Montserrat ordered the construction of the estate in L'Aranyó, an inhospitable place far from the monastery, in this area known for its extreme climate and harsh living conditions.
There the disobedient friars were sent, who did penance by tilling this land. They discovered a terroir with good potential to make a superior wine. According to legend, large barrels mysteriously disappeared. Some said that the angels took them to the heights. Since 2012, we have continued his legacy by making a wine with a great personality, fresh and elegant.
