From the winemaker: An ancient varietal of sarinian tradition, perhaps first planted here by the phoenicians, carignano displays one of the island's many mederterranean characteristics.
Typical of the southernmost areas of the sulicis, it comes from the coastal estate extending from capo tuelada to the igesiente mountain range.
Here the vines are gobelet-trained. Close to the gound. In the traditional manner and yield generous origional fruit after fermenting on the skins. The wine is aged for an extended period, at least three years, first in small oak and then in the bottle.
