We started our online store during the height of the Pandemic. While being seasoned restaurateurs for over twenty years, we were unprepared when the Governor of Virginia shut down our dining rooms to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Customers always enjoyed drinking our wines in our dining rooms and we never thought there would be a day when they would not have that option. How did we respond? First we did not panic and that really helped as we brainstormed what to do. We had experienced some success with selling beer and wine locally through delivery apps and since our business had to shift to the digital side now that our dining room was closed we decided to expand our wine delivery program nationally. Through a lot of trial and error and with the help of a few great wine reps, the wine shipping business has grown to where it now stands on its own separate from our restaurant operations. Moreover, since launching our online store nationally we have grown to be one of the top wine shippers in the country. We have served major conferences, one of which was attended by a former U.S. President, several weddings and numerous oenophiles across the country.
